PRIVACY

Your briefing, mostly on your device.

BrightWorld does not currently require an account. The service is designed to collect as little personal information as practical.

Stored on your device

Your interests, display and voice settings, saved stories, completed editions and hidden stories are stored in your browser or app storage. Clearing BrightWorld’s site data resets them.

Country-wide news

If you choose a country for local coverage, its name is sent to BrightWorld to request the matching edition. BrightWorld does not need your precise GPS location for this feature.

Publishers and links

News requests go to BrightWorld’s service. Publisher images may be loaded from their servers, and opening an original article takes you to that publisher, which applies its own privacy policy.

Tracking and reports

BrightWorld currently includes no advertising tracker or behavioural analytics service. Central reader reporting is not active on every deployment; this notice will be updated before new personal information is collected.

Optional contributions

Choosing to support BrightWorld opens the payment provider's own website. BrightWorld does not collect card details or embed a payment tracker in its pages. The provider applies its own privacy policy and shares the transaction information needed by the recipient to manage contributions. Payment is optional and does not create a BrightWorld account. If you email the support contact, your message and address are used to respond to your enquiry.

The BrightWorld Browser Companion includes its own privacy note for the permissions it uses. Last updated 11 October 2026.
